The Wayúu are an indigenous community living in the Guajira, in the Caribean region of Colombia.
The Wayúus distribute their roles amongst women and men; while the males grow the sheep and the corn, and manufacture musical instruments and espadrilles; the women manufacture the famous Wayúu colourful hammocks, bags and blankets.
A favourite for the beach and the outdoor adventures, and globally known for their colours and designs, these hand-made Wayúu bags have become a fashion statement and are considered the maximum expression of the Wayúu tradition.
